"Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" by Milton E. Crawford
Crawford was born on the family farm about twenty miles southeast of
Jefferson, Texas. Immediately upon graduation from high school, he
entered the U. S. Air Force at the tender age of seventeen. Like the
rest of our society the U. S. Armed Forces was racially segregated,
and the practice of racial discrimination against Black American
citizens was sanctioned by the U. S. Supreme Court.
The impact of his first permanent duty station assignment and the
cadre of Black noncommissioned officers to whom he was exposed
molded his military bearing, deportment, and character. He was
literally driven by his insatiable thirst for knowledge and
expertise. He met all challenges head-on and usually prevailed. He
was on active duty when President Truman signed Executive Order 9981
outlawing racial segregation and the practice of racial
discrimination within the U. S. Armed Forces, and he fought the good
fight to make its concept a reality.
Crawford was proficient in and classified at the supervisory level
in five major Air Force specialties, namely: legal technician,
personnel technician, administrative technician, stenographic
technician, and first sergeant.
Crawford is a retired licensed private investigator and licensed
independent insurance adjuster. His clients include a majority of
the major insurance companies and a few select law firms. He is also
a prominent speaker and leading authority on insurance related fraud
investigations. He earned a LL.B degree from LaSalle Extension
University, Chicago, Illinois.
