The year 2008 marks the 3rd encounter of First Peoples' World Fair and a new beginning of time in history. Native American Indians felt it is important that this special time in history needed to be commemorated. Symbolically a mark will be placed on the "Indian calendar stick" and a design will be placed on the buffalo hide by bringing The People together in celebration of our continued existence throughout the past millennium. A recommitment will be made to the continuation of the strength, beauty, and endurance of our traditions and cultures. Thus providing a platform of inspiration for our Native American Indian Youth, as they come into the 21st Century. The contributions Native People have made to humanity and our contributions to the fabric of life which we have generously shared on mother earth, will be acknowledged.

Reservation Creations Women's Circle Charitable Trust, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1999, is located in Tucson, Arizona. The mission of the non-profit organization is to assist in the preservation, protection and promotion of Native American Indian culture and traditions. And to provide Native American Indian scholarships for western education and traditional Native American teachings. Two scholarships have been given each year from 2001 to 2007.

Reservation Creations Women's Circle Charitable Trust is sponsoring the New Millennium First Peoples' World Fair & Powwow, Thunder in the Desert, Tucson, Arizona 2008. An event we believe will meet the needs of the People to commemorate this special time in history, and will help raise funds for the scholarship program.

This premier event is being organized by an all-volunteer committee dedicated to providing an enjoyable, educational and inspiring experience from an indigenous point of view. We welcome everyone to join us.

Our volunteer committee members are very familiar with organizing powwows. For the past thirteen years, some of the members have assisted in presenting two annual powwows in Tucson, Arizona. Specifically, the two powwows are: the Native American Indian Heritage Month Social Powwow held in November and the New Year's Indian American Competition Powwow. This year's event promises to be much larger in scope and scale and will include both national and international involvement. The organizing committee has expanded to include members from various parts of the United States and abroad. The committee has been working long hours organizing the event.
