Anna Mae and Indigenous Poppycock!

by Jordan S. Dill, NAV Editor

[Today is 12/6/03.]

The death of Anna Mae should be considered Indian Business ‹ Indigenous Nation to Indigenous Nation. We still have within the framework of our culture the capacity to deal with our own problems and mete out the appropriate punishment, according to the offense...Leonard Peltier, December 2003

Anna at
Wounded Knee II
Anna at Wounded Knee II

You all know (about?) Anna Mae.

You all know (about?) Leonard Peltier.

I say that Leonard's latest advice (given in response to the arrest of some "alleged" to have been close to the back of Anna's head as the trigger was pulled) firmly defines itself as poppycock.

Framework?

Please go back north (on this page) and read Leonard's advice about "indigneous capability."

Done that?

Well, where has that "indigenous capability" been hiding?

Where was it the day of Anna's funeral?

WHERE the hell is it? WHERE the hell was it?

Rhetorical

...can be defined as

artificial or extravagent in language.

And, as some may have noticed, I do love the rhetorical.

Nevertheless, I feel obliged to confront Leonard's advice about an alleged "indigenous network" which has so totally failed to confront the cancer eating at the heart of the American Indian Movement.

Reiteration!

Some say it does not matter who pulled the trigger. That it does not matter who raped Her. That what matters is determining those who prompted the pillage of Anna.

I say that it does matter who pulled the trigger. That it does matter who raped Her. That it does matter that all involved, top to bottom, are dragged into the Light.

It does matter that a debt be paid.

It does matter...

If Wasichu is needed to shine the spotlight on accountability, I say so be it!
