About EON: The Employment Opportunity Network

What is the Employment Opportunity Network?

Launched by IMDiversity in early 2002, the EO Network pilot program constitutes a win-win, non-commercial community effort that   disseminates timely job information and promotes workforce diversity in times of economic uncertainty and wide unemployment. Through MEMBERSHIP, organizations in our multicultural and professional communities share the benefits of IMDiversity's advanced Career Center technology, vibrant online community content, and long-standing expertise in diversity recruitment. In turn, they help IMDiversity build an ever-widening pool of diverse, active job candidates that equal opportunity employers want to reach.

EON MEMBERS provide valuable service to their audiences by adding simple Career Center buttons or functionality to their web site.   Job seekers referred to IMDiversity can then review many thousands of employment opportunities and informational profiles posted by employers who specifically, actively seek to recruit diverse talent by using IMDiversity's services. They can also use our free, private job search tools to post employer-searchable resumes, get automated job alert emails, and more. Finally, they find career, news and cultural content created by, for and about our communities -- with the same substance and integrity we've upheld since launching the respected Black Collegian Magazine over 30 years ago.

IMDiversity prominently recognizes and reciprocates MEMBERS' dedication through spotlight profiles on our Multicultural Villages, "co-sponsor" credit on targeted jobs and content features, and publicizing their relevant content, news or events to our communities and diversity employers.  Many MEMBERS are also able to leverage a new EON Career Center click into new sponsorship or employment advertising opportunities for their own sites if they so choose.

Becoming a Member or Getting More Information

Pilot EON MEMBERS have included minority professional and student networking organizations, ethnic media and small businesses, arts and advocacy groups, and even individuals. What we share is a common interest in helping diverse job-seekers and equal opportunity employers of all kinds connect.

From professional networking clubs to downsizing companies, college career planning offices to multicultural newspapers, state unemployment offices to ethnic cultural 'zines, almost any organization dedicated to assisting diverse job seekers could be a good candidate for Membership.

To learn more about how the EON initiative can benefit community groups, job-seekers and employers alike, please email Stewart for details or stop back here later this season to see our new EON section and FAQ.
