U. Missouri-Columbia Student Selected in MAASU 2005 Drawing
About Annie Guo Currently double-majoring in Journalism and International Studies, Annie aspires to become an executive producer at one of the nation's top news stations, and writes:
Annie has been active in and out of school pursuing her dreams. Having served on the editorial staff of the Statesman High School Newspaper in Denver, she went on to supplement her college with an internship at the Denver Herald Dispatch, and has worked with the Asian American Association as Programming Chair. Annie will receive a giftpack including a $50 cash prize, a signed first-edition of Stewart David Ikeda’s What the Scarecrow Said, a limited-edition Secret Asian Man chapbook and goodies-kit, and gifts from Blacklava.net - Clothing for a New State of Mind. She will also receive recognition in a special promotion to top hiring employers nationwide and an opportunity to share her writing with the national APIA community through features on IMDiversity's Asian-American Village.
About the MAASU Drawing As proud participants in the MAASU 2005 "Awaken Your Consciousness" conference this spring, IMDiversity.com's Asian American Village Online, Blacklava.net and SDIkeda.com were inspired to join forces to create a special spring MAASU-only readings and career feature and prize drawing. The goal of the promotion was to recognize and encourage the leadership of Asian Pacific Islander American students who participate in valuable community-oriented organizations such as MAASU. It was further to encourage college students and recent graduates to actively seek and apply for good opportunities with employers who have committed to building a diverse workforce through posting their jobs on IMDiversity.com, and to spotlight promising student talent to hiring employers through posting high-quality resumes. By clicking here, you can still see the conference follow-up feature, including extended materials from some Ann Arbor workshops, IMDiversity's annual “Summer Gigs, Internships and New Grad Opportunities Edition,” and other features. Congratulations again to Annie, and thanks to all the dedicated students at the Midwest Asian American Students Union who posted their resumes for the drawing. We encourage you to stop back again to find opportunities of interest, and wish MAASU and this year's incoming ECC members the best of luck!
